Season Ticket Drive and 2 Hour Call in Show with John H. Lilly
There will be a 2 hour call in show with the Head Faootball Coach and a Pre Season ticket sale on Tuesday at Bellacino's Pizza @ 7:00 ! Everyone should tune in and listen to the call in show as well as pick up their pre season tickets for $20.
WWHS wins the Princeton 7 on 7 Tournament
The Flying Eagles looked almost perfect in the Princeton 7 on 7 round robin tournament. The team defeated Princeton 28-8, Liberty 51-6 and Fayetteville 35- 0 on the ame shutr way to a 3-0 day. JC Pennington looked sharp as well as his deep WR corps. The defense almost had a 3 game Shut out. Coach Carrico's defense was led by Jabari Harrison's 3 Int and Jessee Earp's 2 Int. JC was near perfect and Jessee, Drew and JT had banner day. Our top 3 corners of Tilley, Cameron, and Nikko was on shutdown mode today. This wasthe end of our summer campand what a way to finish on a positve note.
WWHS won the 7 on 7 Tournament at Concord Universitye
The Flying Eagles defeated North Marion, Princeton, Greenbrier East,Man and Gilbert in route to a 7 -0 record in the Concord University Tournament and become Champions ofr the day. Returning Starting QB JC Pennington threw 51 Td's during the day while his deep Wr corps of Cameron Shannon, Drew Johnson, JT Lilly, Tyler Cook, Gaston Smith and Jessee Earp had a great day. The defense was led by 3 returning LB's (Tyler Truman, Max Lilly, and Brady Pittman) while 3 of the 4 DB's (Cameron Shannon, Zach Tilley and Jessee Earp) was joined by Jabari Harrison whom had 5 INT's. Nikko Wesley and Elijah Bradley also played significantly in the secondary.
Players offered scholarships to play football in College
Josh Cottle and Tyler Truman was offered a full ride scholarship to play football for the Mt. Lions at Concord. It is a great day for these young men and the first of many to come! It looks like the hard work thse young men have made in the weightroom under the direction of Coach Lilly is paying off! The tradition of the Flying Eagles football staff placing players on scholarship in College continues.

COACH LILLY LEADS THE SOUTH TO VICTORY 21-6!
Coach Lilly was selected as the Head Football Coach of the South in the Annual North South All Star Game. He led the Cardinals to a 21-6 victory. Coach was joined by Adam Cook and Josh Williamsto play in the game. Adam shined in the All Star game converting all 3 PAT's. Coach Lilly joined Coach Van Meter as WWHS coaches who have participated in this game. This was Coach Lilly's second time in the game.

TEAM CAMP @ WWHS
The Flying Eagles had thier Team Camp. It was sponsored by the City of Beckley and the Concord University Coaching Staff conducted the Camp. Over 100 players participated. 51 of those players were from WWHS. It was a great camp and a lot of instruction took place.

The entire team will report at 8:00 for the team camp at WWHS friday June 12th!
Players shine at the Football Camps at Marshall and Ohio University
Tyler Truman - Clinton Van Horn - Josh Cottle all shined at the camps last weekend! They all looked head and shoulders ahead of their competitors!
Summer Session #1 went well with 31 players participating on Wednesday night ! Next Tuesday will be Team lifting session for summer workout session #2!
Eric Dillon named new Athletic Director
Eric was the Wide Receiver Coach for the Flying Eagles in 2010 and was recently named the new AD last week! Congrats to him and we wish him well!

Tyler was the Strongest Football Player on the team in the final testout of the off season training. He broke the School Bench Press record and the School record in the Squat for his postion! HE WON THE IRON MAN for the 2010 season

400 pound Benches
Tyler Truman and Clinton Van Horn both bench pressed 400 pounds in our last test out! It is the first time we have had 2 big benches. Max Lilly also benched 395 and James Tolliver benched 330! It was a great day for the Flying Eagles.
